How Is IVF Treatment Done? Step by Step

IVF treatment is a planned process made up of several stages. In this video, the specialists of Clavis IVF Center explain every step from beginning to end in clear, simple language.

The process begins with ovarian stimulation: the ovaries are stimulated with hormone medication to develop several eggs. The mature eggs are then collected under light anaesthesia in a procedure called egg collection (OPU). In the laboratory, fertilisation is carried out with ICSI (microinjection), and the developing embryos are monitored continuously with embryoscopy.

The healthiest embryo, usually at the blastocyst stage reached on day 5, is placed into the uterus with a thin catheter — this embryo transfer is painless, needs no anaesthesia and takes only a few minutes. About 10-12 days after the transfer, pregnancy is assessed with a beta hCG test.
